- ER (Emergency Room) position available
- 13-week contract duration
- Start Date: December 9th
- Job Requirements
- BLS Certification is mandatory
- ACLS, PALS, TNCC are preferred
- Experience: Suitable for candidates who have worked in similar
hospital settings
- First-time travelers are okay
- Must be okay with attending unit/department-specific
orientation
- Schedule Information
- Shifts are 7 AM to 7 PM
- Manager handles scheduling-preferences and block scheduling
considered
- Weekend Requirement: Every other or third, as determined per
contract
- Holiday Requirement: Filling in holiday gaps
- No call or standby requirement
- Floating to Med-Surg during any given shift as necessary
- Unit Specific Information
- Common drips include insulin gtt and pain management
- Staffed by 3 licensed individuals typically 2 RNs and 1 LPN, or
RNs
- ED Physician or Mid-Levels (Midlevel or PA) always present
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor takes a shared role and may take
patient assignments
- 2 techs available-one as an ER tech for admissions, the other
usually assists in MS
- RT Equipment operated by paramedics after MD orders, RNs manage
drips
- No monitor techs in the ER-RN monitors own tele
- Unit provides scrub color/dress code flexibility but without
other hospital logos

- # Beds/Trauma Bays: 2 Trauma, 2 Clinic rooms
- Common diagnoses include strokes, MI, trauma-MVC's
- ER treats on average 12 patients per day
- Nurse: Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3
- ER and MS units are adjacent-communication between units is
easy
